Throughout the course of a child’s development the child learns that to ” fit in “, they must behave in a certain way with our society’s expectations. To contain our primitive urges and impulses that are not acceptable within our society, the social mask ( persona) is developed.
The archetype of our persona permits adaptation to our surrounding world and society’s structure. However, close identification to our persona can lead people to lose their true self sight.
